Welcome to The King Arthur in Glastonbury!
Sandy Wicks has been running The King Arthur in Benedict Street since late 2012 with Dragon Clan Ltd. She recently took over from Dragon Clan Ltd on October 31st with her new company Round Table Enterprises. During all this time, The King Arthur has become not only Glastonbury’s premier Live Music Venue and Community Pub but an essential destination for visitors to the town. With an Arthurian atmosphere, with pre raphaelite prints on the wall and dozens of events posters on display, the “Arthur” is a veritable hive of activity, with live music on 6 or 7 nights a week. We are constantly making improvements to the venue and have recently extended The Great Hall, with relocated stage, house PA and lights. The Great Hall is also available to hire for private events and functions with it’s own bar.
The Main Bar is well known in the town for good prices and always stocks a fine selection of local real ales and ciders as well as fine coffees and wines, providing a friendly festival atmosphere one would expect to find in Glastonbury.
The kitchen is providing excellent food at good prices, including Sunday Roast 12.30 – 4.30pm with live Celtic folk and ambient sounds from our resident musicians.
The King Arthur smoking alley is also an experience not to to be missed and is usually buzzing on Friday and Saturday nights. With many colourful folk hanging out, you will certainly have an exciting night to remember. There are not many pubs left like this!
Recently, the King Arthur Beer Garden has been given a facelift, with a refurbished patio and Saint Benedict’s Well undergoing a cleansing and blessing.
The White Room upstairs is now available to hire for small talks, and meetings and during the winter months the famous Winter Warmer Indoor Sunday festivals will return… and watch out for the Cinema Club.
Come and enjoy The King Arthur Experience! Our vision for the future… We look forward to finally transforming the venue into a bona fide COMMUNITY HUB PUB for Glastonbury and Avalon!!
